The Armancette hotel in Saint-Gervais-Les-Bains, a classy and confidential hideaway

Just a few kilometres from Megève, in the quiet little village of Saint-Gervais-Les-Bains in the heart of the Mont Blanc massif, the Armancette boutique hotel is ideal for a soothing, intimate stay. With just 19 rooms, this elegantly styled jewel is enhanced by the charm of the mountains.

If you fancy escaping to a more intimate and traditional village than Megève at the end of the winter season, head for Armancette, a five-star refuge in Saint-Gervais-Les-Bains. This wood-clad chalet offers a splendid view of the Dômes de Miage, the peaks of the southern Mont Blanc massif. It’s a panorama that makes you want to explore the Aiguille du Midi, take a helicopter trip, go caving, visit the local farms and escape to the hot springs in the Alpine village.

19 chic rooms and an open-air spa

With its modern chalet look, the Armancette boutique hotel offers a more personal haven than the big mountain resorts. There are 19 rooms and suites ranging from 25 to 60 square metres, all uniquely decorated in a refined style. Light wood is the predominant colour, enhanced by luxurious materials such as marble, modern furniture and cosy fur blankets. Some of the accommodation, particularly the suites, have fireplaces and balconies or terraces with mountain views. Several spacious chalets, from the same collection as the hotel, are also available with access to all Armancette services.

The hotel’s spa is renowned for its outdoor areas, which are highly appreciated in both winter and summer. The swimming pool and jacuzzis stand proudly outside, facing the peaks. An indoor pool, a hammam, a sauna, two treatment rooms, an overflowing indoor jacuzzi, a relaxation room and a sun terrace complete the wellness facilities on offer. And for the more sporty, there’s a wood-paneled gym.

Two restaurants with comforting Alpine accents

The refinement continues in the restaurants of this welcoming setting. The gastronomic La Table d’Armante, led by chef Fabien Laprée, gives pride of place to traditional regional flavours and seasonal produce. There’s Savoy endive with pear and green and purple shiso, Aubrac beef matured for 20 months with parsley root, chestnuts and a Bordelaise sauce, and a sweet dish with citrus fruit, calissons, praline streusel and lime. Not forgetting the trolley of cheeses from the valley and the fine wine list!

The second restaurant, Mont Joly, just a stone’s throw from Armancette, focuses more on family-style dishes, again in a mountain setting enhanced by the large windows overlooking the Dômes de Miage. There’s also a lovely tea room, which has taken over the village bakery and patisserie.
