A host of stars turned out yesterday for the annual CFDA Fashion Awards ceremony in New York, honouring American and international designers and fashion stars.<\/p>\n

Since 1962, the Council for Fashion Designers of America<\/strong> has been recognising the best in American fashion. Women’s and men’s ready-to-wear and accessories designers, as well as models, stylists and fashion icons who have made their mark during the year, are presented with various awards.<\/strong><\/p>\n

For this 60th edition, the CFDA has chosen to posthumously present the Council Award<\/strong><\/em> to Virgil Abloh<\/strong>, who passed away in November 2021. The award is a tribute to his contribution to fashion and design.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The other major winners are: Catherine Holstein<\/strong> (Khaite<\/strong> brand) for the “American Womenswear Designer of the Year<\/em>” award, and Emily Adams Bode Aujla<\/strong> (BODE<\/strong>) for the “American Menswear Designer of the Year<\/em>” award.\u00a0 LUAR<\/strong> founder Raul Lopez<\/strong> received the ‘Accessories Designer of the Year<\/em>‘ award and Elena Velez<\/strong> the ‘Emerging Designer of the Year<\/em>‘ award.<\/p>\n

Many celebrities were present at the awards ceremony, some dressed by the nominated designers in the various categories. Among them, the singer Cher<\/strong>, wearing a long skirt and leather perfecto by Chrome Hearts<\/strong>, the actress Keke Palmer<\/strong> in a floral dress and matching Carolina Hearst<\/strong> thigh-high boots, or Amanda Seyfried<\/strong> in an asymmetrical dress by Michael Kors<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The Kardashian family<\/strong> was also present: Kendall Jenner<\/strong> was dressed in a long, minimalist white dress with a plunging neckline from the Khaite<\/strong> label, while Kim Kardashian<\/strong> opted for a strapless, vinyl sheath dress from Dolce & Gabbana<\/strong>. Surrounded by her mother and sisters, she also received the Innovation Award<\/strong><\/em> for her brand Skims<\/strong> from Martha Stewart<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
