But Le Mans fans can rejoice: after <strong>Peugeot<\/strong> in 2022 and <strong>Porsche<\/strong> this year, the Italian Ferrari team is back with a high-flying <strong>Hypercar<\/strong> prototype.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Ferrari&#8217;s last overall victory came in <strong>1965<\/strong>, in the Prototype category. The following year, the Scuderia lost out to <strong>Ford<\/strong>, an event immortalized by Hollywood in the film <strong>&#8220;Le Mans 66 \/ Ford versus Ferrari&#8221;<\/strong>, released in <strong>2019<\/strong>. After successive failures, the prancing-horse brand finally decided to devote itself solely to Formula 1 racing.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><iframe title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/4aY0dW3hpRc\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><\/iframe><br \/>\n&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;With the new Le Mans Hypercar program, Ferrari reaffirms its sporting commitment and determination to be a protagonist in major motorsport competitions&#8221;<\/em>, said Ferrari president <strong>John Elkann<\/strong> in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Putting an end to Toyota&#8217;s hegemony<\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Two <strong>Ferrari 499Ps<\/strong> will defend the <strong>Maranello<\/strong> firm&#8217;s red colors at Le Mans, the <strong>4th round of the championship<\/strong>. Ferrari currently occupies <strong>2nd place<\/strong> in the standings, behind <strong>Toyota<\/strong> and ahead of <strong>Porsche<\/strong>. The Scuderia&#8217;s n\u00b050 Hypercar also put in its first performances on Sunday June 4, during the test day. But it won&#8217;t be the latter who will be taking to the track on <strong>Saturday June 10 at 4pm.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Among Ferrari&#8217;s crews this year, only <strong>Antonio Giovinazzi<\/strong> has taken part in Formula 1 races.
