\u201cMatisse. 1941-1954\u201d at the Grand Palais, Paris, explores the final years of Henri Matisse\u2019s creation. Unveiled from 24 March to 26 July 2026, more than 230 works – paintings, drawings, books, textiles, stained glass and especially his famous cut-out gouaches – retrace how, between 1941 and 1954, the artist invented a singular plastic language. We rediscover his major series like Int\u00e9rieurs de Vence, the album Jazz and iconic figures such as La Tristesse du roi and les Nus bleus, revealing his creative freedom and the intensity of his color until the end of his artistic life.<\/p>\n

Byblos, eternal city – Institut du Monde Arabe – Paris<\/h3>\n

From March 24 to August 23, 2026, “Byblos, eternal city” at the Arab World Institute delves into the history of Byblos, one of the oldest seaports in the world. Objects, sculptures, royal adornments and archaeological treasures… more than 470 exceptional pieces tell 9,000 years of urbanization and cultural exchanges between the Lebanese coast, ancient Egypt, Mesopotamia and the Aegean world. The exhibition highlights the major role of Byblos in the dissemination of the Phoenician writing and presents recent discoveries, including an intact necropolis from the Bronze Age, offering a spectacular immersion into this ancestral civilization.<\/p>\n

Unicorn! – Mus\u00e9e de Cluny-National Museum of the Middle Ages – Paris<\/h3>\n

The Cluny Museum – National Museum of the Middle Ages dedicates the exhibition “Unicorn!” to the mythical unicorn in Western art and imagination. The route traces the evolution of this symbol between pure myth and art, from its medieval representations to its lasting influence in culture. Visitors can notably discover how the unicorn embodies ideas of purity, sacredness and desire, by confronting historical works with more modern interpretations, and thus explore the role of this fascinating creature in narratives, the arts and beliefs through the centuries.
