On the program: 61 films, including 24 in the running for the Palme d&#8217;Or.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>After being postponed due to the health situation, the 74th edition of the <strong>Cannes Film Festival<\/strong> will be held from July 6 to 17. This year, the <strong>Palme d&#8217;Or<\/strong> will be awarded at the end of the awards ceremony, on July 17, by the American director<strong> Spike Lee<\/strong>, who chairs the <strong>Jury<\/strong> of the <strong>Festival<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The<strong> selection of films<\/strong> was announced by the general delegate <strong>Thierry Fr\u00e9maux<\/strong> on Thursday, June 3, during a press conference held in a Parisian cinema and which you can find below. In total, the complex, named <strong>Cineum Cannes<\/strong>, has 12 rooms and 2,450 seats.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Two-time Oscar-winning actress <strong>Jodie Foster<\/strong> will be the guest of honor at the <strong>Festival<\/strong>&#8216;s opening ceremony and will receive an honorary<strong> Palme d&#8217;Or<\/strong>. In the history of the <strong>Cannes Film Festival<\/strong>, the award has been given to the greatest figures of the cinema such as <strong>Agn\u00e8s Varda<\/strong>, <strong>Jane Fonda<\/strong>, or <strong>Jean-Paul Belmondo<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>To succeed the director of <strong>Parasite<\/strong>, the South Korean <strong>Bong Joon Ho<\/strong>, winner of the 2019 <strong>Palme d&#8217;Or<\/strong> at the last edition of the <strong>Festival<\/strong>, many films are in the running. Director <strong>Wes Anderson<\/strong> (The Grand Budapest Hotel) will appear in the competition with his film <strong>The French Dispatch<\/strong>, shot in Angoul\u00eame, in the south of France. Adapted from the book Sister Benedetta, between saint and lesbian by Judith C.
