Jamie Lee Curtis will be the guest of honour at the 2021 Mostra of Venice. The actress will receive a Golden Lion for her entire career.<\/p>\n

A lifetime achievement award will be presented to Jamie Lee Curtis<\/strong> at the Venice International Film Festiva<\/strong>l in September, where the latest installment of her films Halloween<\/strong> will be screened out of competition, organizers announced.<\/p>\n

“I am incredibly honored to be recognized in this way by the Venice International Film Festival<\/em>“, Jamie Lee Curtis<\/strong> said in a statement. “It seems impossible that I’ve been in this industry long enough to receive this honorary award, and to have it happen now, with Halloween Kills is especially meaningful to me.<\/em>”<\/p>\n

The Hollywood star<\/strong> made her film debut in John Carpenter’s 1978 horror film “Halloween<\/em>” as babysitter Laurie Strode, who confronted serial killer Michael Myers.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

“This is a gift to me, because you know I started in 1978 with the character of Laurie Strode, the brave heroine of this scary series. I will receive this trophy on behalf of all women who stand up to adversity and refuse to give in to fear<\/em>.”<\/p>\n

In addition to the “Halloween<\/em>” franchise, Curtis is also known for starring in such blockbusters as “A Fish Called Wanda<\/em>,” “Trading Places<\/em>“, “Freaky Friday<\/em>” ,”True Lies<\/em>“, “Blue Steel<\/em>“, “The Panama Tailor<\/em>” and “Knives Out<\/em>“.<\/p>\n

According to Venetian festival director Alberto Barbera<\/strong>, Jamie Lee Curtis<\/strong> is “a direct descendant of the American film aristocracy – she is the daughter of two unforgettable stars, Tony Curtis and Janet Leigh. Jamie Lee Curtis is the natural embodiment of a star who can play roles with versatility and ease, while infusing them with her unmatched charisma and iconic personality<\/em>“.<\/p>\n

Presided over by South Korean director Bong Joon-ho<\/strong>, this edition will take place September 1-11, 2021 in Venice.<\/p>\n
