Kyoto, the ancient capital of Japan, is home to the Roku luxury hotel. Part of LXR Hotels & Resorts, a subsidiary of the Hilton Group, this new hotel is the perfect demonstration of Japanese luxury.<\/p>\n

For its first Asian home, LXR Hotels & Resorts<\/strong> is banking on more than just upscale service. Located in the foothills of Takagamine Sanzan, north of Kyoto, the hotel is close to the sights but far from the hustle and bustle of the city. It is 2 hours from Kansai Airport and 1 hour from Itami Airport.<\/p>\n

The hotel offers 114 rooms and suites<\/strong>, all designed with Japanese minimalism in mind. Each room features low-profile wooden furniture, slatted room dividers and a colour palette of neutral tones. It’s a combination of the traditional, quiet Japan of yesteryear and the modern Japan of all these facilities.<\/p>\n

It also has gourmet restaurants<\/strong>, including its pavilion restaurant which features three distinct areas where guests can enjoy local cuisine, concocted with seasonal ingredients. The hotel advises that “at the live kitchen counter, watch exciting demonstrations of original dishes by our chef, or relax at the caf\u00e9 and bar with quiet outdoor seating along the Tenjin River. The breathtaking natural views before you change with the seasons, allowing you to discover new horizons with every meal.”<\/em><\/p>\n

Nils-Arne Schroeder, vice president of luxury and lifestyle Asia Pacific at Hilton<\/strong> said of the hotel, “There is a distinct story behind each LXR property that builds on the promise of providing personalised attention and luxurious, yet locally immersive experiences for our guests” before adding, “I am convinced that Roku Kyoto is perfectly positioned to be the epitome of a peaceful retreat with a deep connection to the alluring city.”<\/em><\/p>\n

The location provides access within a few steps, to sights such as the Golden Pavilion of Kinkaku-ji, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and Koetsuji<\/strong> and Genkoan temples.<\/p>\n

But if sightseeing is not an option, guests can enjoy the Onsen, a natural hot spring water bath<\/strong>, typical of Japan. Not to mention the hotel’s spa, based on elements unique to Tokyo and steeped in the healing traditions of Ayurvedic philosophy. Guests can also take advantage of the fully equipped 24-hour fitness room.<\/p>\n
