This year, Cointreau pays homage to the original Margarita and dresses in colors with the collective The Tropicool Company.<\/p>\n

Cointreau<\/strong> continues to combine tradition and modernity<\/strong> by entrusting the reinterpretation of its bottle to inspired artists. Skillfully combining color and pop design<\/strong>, this new graphic limited edition goes back to the origins of the Margarita.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The story of the margarita begins in 1948, in Acapulco<\/strong>, then very popular with the jet set and frequented by the gotha of the time. Margaret “Margarita” Sames<\/strong>, a rich American socialite, was known for organizing lavish parties. It was for one of her majestic parties that she sought an original cocktail creation combining her two favorite spirits: Cointreau liqueur and Tequila. After a few tries, she added lime juice and a light frosting of salt to this new cocktail of her invention<\/strong>. She invented the Original Cointreau Margarita<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Cointreau decided this year to pay tribute to him through a sunny creation by The Tropicool Company<\/strong>. This is an informal collective of artists created in 2014. Florian Viel<\/strong>, a young Parisian artist who fell under the spell of the tropics during a trip to Mexico, was chosen to interpret the mythical bottle. He plays with organic and geometric shapes to create intensely pop works that awaken the senses and the mind.<\/p>\n

“I mix a lot of things in my work, color palettes and shapes to create new ones and form a whole. I think creating a cocktail follows the same process: a judicious mix of flavors to create a unique taste<\/em>.” explains the designer.<\/p>\n
