After many collaborations with the House of Chanel, architect Peter Marino still can’t seem to get enough of working for the French House. The book “Peter Marino : The Architecture of Chanel<\/em>” from Phaidon Editions reveals all the secrets of his work for Chanel.<\/p>\n

This book acts as a celebration of the union between architect Peter Marino<\/strong> and the aesthetic of the House of Chanel<\/strong>. Through this book, you will get a behind-the-scenes look at the buildings Marino designed for Chanel in Chicago, Hong Kong, Istanbul, Los Angeles, Nanjing, New York, Miami, Osaka, Seoul, Singapore, Tokyo<\/strong>, and many others.<\/p>\n

You will learn about the selection of sixteen of the many buildings Peter Marino built for Chanel, all of which respect the aesthetic and codes so characteristic of the House.<\/p>\n

“White and black is a really great color palette to work with. And very, very, very strong. Chanel is lucky to have that palette<\/em>,” Marino<\/strong> said.<\/p>\n

In the book, the architect points out that “it takes ten times more effort to create a building than an interior, because the interior never lasts more than five years<\/em>“.<\/p>\n

Peter Marino’s love affair with Chanel began 25 years ago. He is the star architect of luxury brands, having worked for Louis Vuitton, Dior, Hublot, Cheval Blanc, Bulgari<\/strong> and others.<\/p>\n

Pilar Viladas<\/strong>, a design writer, tells in the introduction of the book, the inspirations of Peter Marino for his achievements. “The Chanel No. 5 box, Chanel’s black, beige and white color palette, his signature tweed and pearls, and his apartment are just a few of the themes that Marino interprets over and over again – but never in the same way – using luxurious materials and precise details<\/em>,” she comments.<\/p>\n

“I am very proud of the uniqueness of the buildings I have done for Chanel. They don’t look like anything else”<\/em>. says Marino in the book. “It’s not easy to be non-derivative in today’s fashion world<\/em>,” he adds.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Peter Marino continues to work on projects with Chanel, including two in China<\/strong> and two in France<\/strong> : the renovation of the boutique in Nice<\/strong> and the renovation of the Haute Joaillerie in Place Vend\u00f4me<\/strong>. So far, he has completed more than 200 Chanel boutiques<\/strong> and does not intend to stop there.<\/p>\n
