To celebrate the holy month of Ramadan, several luxury fashion houses such as Balenciaga, Dior, Gucci or Louis Vuitton have revisited some of their classics with colours reminiscent of the Orient or released several capsule collections. A journey through luxury and the Orient!<\/p>\n

Gucci honours the Arab world with the Gucci Nojum<\/em> capsule collection<\/h2>\n

 <\/p>\n

First of all, the Italian label Gucci recently unveiled Nojum<\/em>, an exclusive capsule collection of women’s and men’s clothing in honour of the month of Ramadan.<\/strong> Nojum means “astronomy” or “star” in Arabic, and the pieces in the collection feature a number of brightly coloured motifs from nature<\/strong> and the sky<\/strong>. The dresses in the women’s ready-to-wear collection feature sequins, crystal ornaments and bowl embroidery, elegantly arranged on Georgette crepe, silk or linen.<\/p>\n

The collection revisited some of the House’s iconic pieces such as the Gucci Diana<\/strong> and Gucci Bamboo 1947 bags<\/strong>, created for the occasion in pastel, gold or silver.<\/p>\n

Another initiative of the house to pay tribute to Muslims around the world celebrating the month of Ramadan: the visuals of the capsule collection were made in Dubai<\/strong> and the models chosen to represent the collection are of North African or Arab origin. The models Nora Attal, Ali Latif, Malika El Maslouhi and Ibrahima Diaw<\/strong> were photographed by the Lebanese-Sudanese photographer Dana Boulos<\/strong>. Commenting on the initiative, the media outlet MILLE Word said, \u201cHaving Arabs and Africans behind and in front of the camera for the celebration of the holy month marks a big change in mainstream media and fashion representation. The realisation of this global campaign is a powerful catalyst for change in an industry that has for too long neglected the Arab world and the African continent<\/em>\u201d .<\/p>\n

The Gucci Nojum<\/em> capsule collection is already available for purchase in many countries around the world and in the Middle East, including the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, the UK, the US and Malaysia.<\/p>\n

Dior Or<\/em>, the House’s collection for Ramadan 2022<\/h2>\n

 <\/p>\n

The French fashion house has also dressed up its flagship pieces for Ramadan. As the name of the collection suggests, Dior has chosen gold but also silver to recall the nuances of Ramadan and the Orient.<\/strong> The house’s artistic director, Maria Grazia Chiuri<\/strong>, stressed that gold has always been the symbol of the house’s timeless audacity and creativity. For this reason, each year Dior releases a collection that reinterprets this philosophy. This collection has a flagship piece: a glittering dress in a unique silver tone. The Lady D-Lite, Dior Book and Lady Dior bags have all been enhanced with iridescent, gold and silver finishes. <\/strong><\/p>\n

To promote Dior Or, the House opened three ephemeral boutiques<\/strong> across the Middle East: in Dubai, Kuwait, and Riyadh<\/strong>. Featuring one of the capsule collection’s flagship designs, the three pop-up stores have been open since 17 March 2022 at Avenues Mall in Kuwait and Centria Mall in Riyadh, and since 23 March at Dubai Mall.<\/p>\n

Balenciaga revisits its classics for Ramadan<\/h2>\n

 <\/p>\n

The Spanish luxury fashion house also wanted to mark the holy month of Ramadan by revisiting several of its classics. The latter chose gold<\/strong> and emerald green<\/strong> tones as well as glitter to pay tribute to Ramadan.<\/p>\n

The popular Hourglass bag<\/strong> has been designed in two versions and features the two emblematic colours of this “Ramadan 2022” collection. The Cagole sandals<\/strong> have also been chosen and adorned for the occasion in gold and emerald green.<\/p>\n

The first special Ramadan collection for Louis Vuitton<\/h2>\n

 <\/p>\n

For the first time in its history, the French fashion house has decided to release a collection of ready-to-wear pieces for Ramadan 2022. It has also revisited several of its iconic bags in an emerald green colour. <\/strong>The choice of this colour makes sense as it is considered in many cultures to be a colour representing peace, prosperity, and love.<\/p>\n

Against a backdrop of the desert<\/strong>, the collection’s campaign highlights the Petite Malle, the Alma BB and the Dauphine Mini<\/strong>, adorned in this emerald green colour.<\/p>\n

A fragrance with oriental scents combining orange blossom with jasmine and rose was also unveiled in addition to the clothes and bags in the collection and is called “Desert Flower<\/strong>“.<\/p>\n
