Pre-launch of the Summer issue: Luxus Magazine hits the rails with Belmond!

As summer begins to settle in, the mercury rises and the desire to travel grows, LUXUS MAGAZINE unveils the print cover of its 11th issue on Monday, June 30. To celebrate this new edition, enjoy free shipping on all pre-orders until July 7.

This season, the editorial team invites you to pack your bags and embark on a long journey that promises to be unforgettable, aboard a luxury train: the Britannic Explorer, the latest flagship of the Belmond hotel group.

Among the prestigious Belmond trains—owned by the LVMH group—the Venice-Simplon-Orient-Express and the Royal Scotsman are the best known. But the launch of the Britannic Explorer this summer is also set to make waves. It is the first luxury train to cross England and Wales. We have chosen this new “palace on rails” to feature on the cover of our summer issue.

Offering a complete immersion in local culture through its cuisine and stops at exceptional historical sites, Belmond promises a truly luxurious journey.

Welcome aboard

The editorial team chose to feature Belmond’s Britannic Explorer because this luxury train will begin its very first journey across the British Isles in early July, just as we launch our magazine.

This new addition to the Belmond hotel group’s collection of luxury trains further enhances its range of prestigious journeys in Great Britain, with the company already serving Scotland with the aptly named Royal Scotsman, not to mention the legendary British Pullman, with its 1920s Art Deco carriages.

Fans of the Netflix series The Crown will notice a certain similarity between the name “Britannic Explorer” and Queen Elizabeth II’s personal yacht, the Britannia, which served the late monarch on her many diplomatic trips to Commonwealth countries.

But unlike the Royal Scotsman, the Britannic Explorer is unique in that it is a creation from scratch orchestrated by the LVMH hotel group.

The large panoramic windows of its 18 cabins and suites promise breathtaking views of the different regions crossed, from Cornwall to the Lake District National Park and Wales.

On board, comfort is unparalleled, with the added bonus of a spa area where you can finally take some time for yourself. In addition to the scenery, the spacious surroundings and the velvety feel of the seats, the sensory experience would not be complete without the gastronomic aspect, provided here by chef Simon Rogan, “one of the pioneers of the farm-to-table movement.”

Above all, the Britannic Explorer is firmly rooted in the very current trend of Slow Travel. This “slower pace of travel” calls for truly disconnecting, forgetting about notifications and the incessant noise of the city to take the time to discover a destination at your own pace and, even better, opt for soft mobility, as with these rail cars.

That’s why, in addition to the cover, the Britannic Explorer is also our cover story, with an exclusive interview with its General Manager, Hendrik Huebner.

So, are you ready for a transformative journey in a quintessentially British setting? Pre-order now and enjoy free delivery until July 7.
