Summer is the perfect time to slow down, find inspiration… and subscribe. Luxus Magazine is offering its summer issue free with any annual subscription, meaning you get five issues instead of four. Offer valid until July 21.
The new issue of Luxus Magazine, entirely dedicated to slow travel, is now available.
After revealing its cover (the Britannic Explorer by Belmond) and its inspiring contents (slow travel, butter yellow, Art Deco), the print edition is now available for delivery.
A collector’s item to read and give as a gift — and above all, an opportunity to immerse yourself in the new elective affinities of luxury, between exploration, culture, and well-being.
This bilingual magazine (French/English), designed as the print extension of the digital editions of Luxus Plus and Luxus Magazine, invites you to explore luxury in a different way.
In the beginning, luxury was a sacred object of beauty, before establishing itself in fashion and accessories.
But under the influence of masstige strategies, the virality of social media, and globalization, it has conquered satellite worlds to become a cultural influencer in everyday life, for connoisseurs and aspirational consumers alike.
Today, understanding the major changes in luxury requires us to move away from a silo mentality. It must be thought of as a shifting, cross-cutting ecosystem, nourished by craftsmanship, finance, culture, entertainment, geopolitics and sport.
It is precisely this cross-disciplinary perspective that the print edition of Luxus Magazine offers, exploring the sector’s many influences: high culture (opera, fine arts, literature, etc.) as well as popular culture (TV series, comic books, video games, street art, etc.) and subcultures emerging from the habits of younger generations.
The summer 2025 issue is all about Slow Travel — a different way of thinking about tourism, time, and, more broadly, well-being.
Finally taking the time
Everyday life seems littered with to-do lists, notifications, roadmaps, and deadlines—all elements that too often confuse speed with haste, against a backdrop of over-optimization.
Travel itself has followed this trajectory: it is no longer about living the experience but about posting evidence of it on social media. In a very “I was there” mode, exhibitions and books have become proof of having been somewhere rather than sources of nourishing content. In tourism, this logic has given rise to lists of places to “do before you die” and restaurants to try. But due to a lack of time and a desire to see everything, we remain on the surface of the postcard. Cities are now perceived solely through their shopping streets, city centers, or tourist districts. Authenticity is giving way to a marketed image, far removed from the picturesque and the genuine.
This quest for meaning, self-reflection, and reconnection with nature is giving rise to a new way of traveling: slow travel.
Behind this concept, which is strongly focused on well-being, is the desire to immerse oneself in the local culture, meet the locals, and even stay in their homes, while adopting a behavior that is respectful of nature and people—a kind of CSR on the road that favors soft mobility such as trains or bicycles.
The phenomenon is booming, as our hospitality expert Hervé de Gouvion St Cyr shows. A specialist in luxury hotels, Belmond, owned by LVMH, is constantly expanding its range of exceptional rail travel experiences. The Britannic Explorer, the latest addition to the fleet, illustrates this desire to think outside the box: its itinerary serves destinations that are still relatively unknown and is aimed at both tourists and local customers. It even has its own spa area.
A distillation of curiosity and entertainment
Since its creation in 2021, the print edition of Luxus Magazine has been designed as “a comprehensive lifestyle magazine offering alternative entertainment for luxury executives and decision-makers and beyond.”
Luxus Magazine aims to reflect the current luxury industry, which is hybrid, cosmopolitan, and multi-sectoral. The 84 pages of the magazine cover business, cultural, economic, sociological, and geopolitical topics.
Through its “Decoding,” “Investigation,” and “Portrait” sections, Luxus Magazine introduces you to key figures from major luxury brands and seasoned experts in their fields.
A choice of boldness and independence
Luxus Magazine promises a clear and ambitious editorial line, choosing diverse, in-depth, and well-researched topics, as well as a carefully crafted and deliberately immersive layout.
Much more than just a design object, Luxus Magazine dares to offer distinctive topics that resonate with the major issues facing the sector and society as a whole.
Every quarter, your magazine also sifts through the must-see events and cultural outings, whether it’s the cultural calendar, movies and TV series, or the art season.
With its shopping selections, Luxus Magazine gives you gift ideas for others and for yourself, whether it’s vinyl albums, beautiful books, novels, or other carefully chosen items.
Finally, choosing Luxus Magazine means choosing an independent magazine with a small but passionate and determined editorial team. We are not affiliated with any media group and are not subject to any capital structure.
This editorial freedom is perhaps the best reason to (re)discover our summer edition, which is free with any annual subscription until July 21.
