Apple, which usually reveals its new iphone models in September, should not be an exception to the rule for its iPhone 14.
The rumors are going well and the new iPhone 14 by Apple should be presented in mid-September of this year. But a question arises around the price of the latter. Indeed, speaking to the British tabloid The Sun, the analyst Daniel Ives of Wedbush Securities explains that the 2022 models should cost more than their predecessors.
The classic model is expected to be $100 more expensive, and the other variants will also be affected by this increase. If confirmed, the iPhone 14 would cost $899 in the U.S. compared to $799 for the iPhone 13. As for the “Pro” models, the iPhone 14 Pro would be priced at $1,099 ($999 for the 13 Pro) while the iPhone 14 Pro Max would start at $1,199 ($1,099 for the 13 Pro Max). The French prices should be even more expensive, due to Apple’s policy and the various taxes applied.
Daniel Ives explains that this price increase is the result of the shortage and the pandemic: “Prices have increased throughout the supply chain, and Cupertino has to pass these costs on to the consumer during this release“.
What to expect from this new iPhone?
As for what’s new, the future series could keep the A15 Bionic chip from the iPhone 13, while the Pro and Pro Max versions would benefit from the A16 Bionic and thus increased performance. Similarly, only the iPhone Pro could finally see the notch disappear and continue to benefit from ProMotion.

On the camera side, these high-end models could make a leap forward with a 48MP main sensor. Indeed, according to rumors launched by analyst Ming Chi Kuo, known for his reliable forecasts on Apple products, the real advance of the iPhone 14 would lie in the selfie camera. The latter would indeed be enriched with an automatic autofocus and lenses with a larger aperture.
