LUXUS MAGAZINE presents one of Finland’s most luxurious hotels in northern Lapland: the Kakslauttanen Arctic Resort, located near Saariselkä. A unique experience that lets visitors sleep under the starry sky and admire the Northern Lights.
Would you like to immerse yourself in the magic of celestial lights from glass and snow igloos ? This is the adventure offered by the Kakslauttanen Arctic Resort in Lapland.

The glass igloos feature a transparent roof to admire the splendid Northern Lights, and some even include a bathroom with sauna, for maximum comfort. These breathtaking glass igloos are only available to book during the Northern Lights season, which runs from around August 20 to the end of April.
For the more adventurous, the snow igloos offer a truly privileged moment, sheltered from outside noise. Nevertheless, the hotel will provide you with everything you need to keep warm, given the temperature inside the igloo of between -6°C and -3°C (always more pleasant than the outside temperature of around -40°C).
More traditional but just as immersive, log cabins offer complete facilities, including a kitchen, living room with fireplace, private sauna and sometimes even a Jacuzzi on the terrace.

The hotel is also equipped with two restaurants serving Lappish specialties such as reindeer and grilled salmon, providing the perfect way to immerse yourself in this extraordinary atmosphere. The smoke sauna itself has its own restaurant, the Savusauna, and the hotel also offers six saunas, accompanied by relaxation rooms with open fireplaces. A hole dug in the ice allows you to cool off after a sauna session.
The experience offers a wealth of snowy activities: snowmobile safaris, husky-drawn sleigh rides, fishing on the incredible Lake Inarinjävi and visits to traditional villages. It’s all part of a memorable experience that combines luxury and immersion in one of Europe’s wildest and most majestic environments.
For your stay, expect to pay between 600 euros (for a standard chalet) and 1,200 euros (for a comfort chalet) per night for two people. However, the hotel offers the Kelo Glass, a brand-new ultra-luxurious bungalow for up to 12 people, containing 3 glass igloos, for around 3,500 euros a night.
