To mark the release of the Louis Vuitton x NBA collection, the house has opened an exclusive pop-up store in its first men’s flagship store in the world, located in Tokyo’s Shibuya district.
As its collaboration with the National Basketball Association was launched on May 27, the house of Louis Vuitton unveiled a pop-up store in the “Louis Vuitton Shibuya Men’s Store“. Located in the Shibuya district of the city of Tokyo, the ephemeral store is located in the Miyashita Park shopping complex.
The space dedicated to the Louis Vuitton x NBA collection takes place in the brand’s first men’s flagship, which opened last year and whose facades and interior are entirely decorated in NBA colors.
As soon as you arrive in front of the store, you can’t miss the huge letters covering the facade with the name “Louis” and the colors of the league, red, blue and white. Venturing inside the store, one immediately notices the Louis Vuitton x NBA capsule collection at the entrance, which welcomes the house’s clientele.
The walls are painted entirely with the orange color of the National Basketball Association. In the center, a huge basketball of three meters in diameter dominates the store. The imposing ball is available for sale, along with the rest of the capsule.
This collection is carried by the artistic director Virgil Abloh and his collaboration with the American designer Don Crawley. As the NBA celebrates its 75th anniversary, the Louis Vuitton x NBA capsule celebrates the overarching values of basketball such as brotherhood, inclusivity, and collective spirit.
