On the evening of May 5, the Met Gala was held at New York’s Metropolitan Museum, much to the delight of fashion enthusiasts and people-watchers alike. Let’s take a look at this year’s most beautiful looks, based on the theme “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style”.
Dedicated to funding the fashion department of New York’s Metropolitan Museum, the Met Gala takes place every year on the first Monday in May. Organized by Vogue (Condé Nast), and under the protection of Anna Wintour, in just a few years the event has become a veritable fashion super bowl. Bringing together the world’s biggest celebrities and most fashionable designers, the Met Gala 2025 featured the theme “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style” around the figure of the black dandy and the importance of clothing in black identity. The dedicated exhibition will run from May 10 to October 26.
Rihanna, pregnant with her 3rd child, more radiant than ever
And so, on a blue carpet dotted with flowers, the stars took to the steps of New York’s Metropolitan Museum on Monday evening (May 5) to attend the gala dinner. Rihanna announced her 3rd pregnancy with a baby bump sublimated by a Marc Jacobs look. The silhouette was composed of a brocaded mini blazer, a close-fitting grey top, a slit skirt with discreet stripes, a white collar with a short red polka-dot tie and a beautiful black hat. His partner ASAP Rocky, who was co-chairman of the Met Gala 2025, designed his own dandy outfit with a black AWGE parka inspired by the Marmot nylon jackets he wore as a child, enhanced by a three-piece suit, Louboutin patent shoes and a sequined umbrella.

Singer Tyla, who had caused a sensation at the Met Gala 2024 with a sandy Balmain gown, appeared in a feminine white gown with thin, spaced black stripes and off-the-shoulder straps. The Jacquemus piece was accompanied by a long coat in the same pattern.

Zendaya chose a three-piece suit with white androgynous tie and elegant white hat, all by Pharrell Williams for Louis Vuitton. Diana Ross turned not to a designer but to her own wardrobe, with a sequin dress and feathered coat and hat from her archives.

Miranda Kerr revisited the tayloring structure in a black buster dress adorned with a bow inspired by suit and sleeve details. Lewis Hamilton, this year’s co-president, wore a white Grace Wales Bonner suit boosted by a brooch, beret and bow tie. Gigi Hadid came in a gold dress by Miu Miu that paid homage to Josephine Baker. Prada created a suit in chocolate hues and sequined leather gloves for Bad Bunny.
The Kardashian-Jenner clan turns to dark shades
Halle Berry was as sexy-chic as ever in a shimmering, sheer black striped dress, revealing the lines of her body and a vertiginous décolleté. Charli XCX walked the blue carpet in an Ann Demeulemeester outfit featuring a sheer skirt, tuxedo jacket and a bust-to-hair river of feathers. Anok Yai selected Thom Browne, who designed a sequined gown with costume details, while Jenna Ortega appeared in an incredible Balmain dress made with couture rules, recalling the craftsmanship of the fashion sphere.

As for the Kardashian-Jenner clan, Kylie Jenner opted for the house of Ferragamo with a corset, slit skirt and chocolate silk stole, while her big sister Kim Kardashian wore a leather outfit by Chrome Hearts with a bare back and long train, accompanied by pearls and numerous diamonds around her neck. Kendall Jenner adopted a sober look by designer Torishéju between a gray blazer and a flared skirt.

In Burberry, Cardi B was dressed in a green velvet coat, and Nicole Kidman walked the runway in a black strapless gown adorned with flat bows by Balenciaga.
Demi Moore wore a white pinstripe dress adorned with a halo by Thom Browne, Emma Chamberlain relied on Courrèges for a destructured halter dress, and Colman Domingo (co-chairman of the Met) donned a Valentino look of plaid blazer and polka-dot tie topped with a blue coat.

There were also several star/brand combos that worked perfectly: Dua Lipa in Chanel, Anna Hathaway in Carolina Herrera, Jennie Kim in Chanel, Madonna in Tom Ford, Lisa in Louis Vuitton, Doechii in Louis Vuitton, Miley Cyrus in Alaïa, Sydney Sweeney in Miu Miu and Regé-Jean Page in Brioni.
These ultra-photographed silhouettes have been flooding social networks since May 5, and should, as they do every year, inspire future fashion trends.
