Miglia: Dolce Vita has its trattoria in the heart of the 8th arrondissement of Paris

Ideally located a stone’s throw from Place des Ternes in Paris, Miglia was designed as a truly chic “trattoria”. Inaugurated in 2024, the establishment, which is a resounding success with a business clientele, offers authentic and gourmet Italian cuisine in a warm setting. We tested it for you!

Miglia, whose name is inspired by the Italian word “family”, offers a chic and friendly atmosphere, attentive service and a tasty menu. This is the recipe for its success with businessmen and women in the Etoile district of the 8th arrondissement of Paris.

Whether you choose to sit on the beautiful sunny terrace or in the vibrant Mediterranean setting of the interior, the journey to Italy is guaranteed!

In terms of food, you’ll find the great Italian classics in all their glory: crispy pizzas, fresh pasta, slow-cooked meats and delicately prepared fish.

A colorful decor inspired by Venice

To bring Miglia to life, the very discreet owner Eddy Bénézet called on the talented and very fashionable duo of Madrid designers Alba Hurlé & Alicia Martin. This cousin of the Costes family, who is known as the little prince of the Parisian brasserie, is already behind the restaurants Le Coq, L’Opus, La Rotonde de la Muette and Le Petit Victor Hugo.

“The Miglia restaurant was a challenge because the space was small. So we had to optimize every corner to create a convivial space,” Alicia told the Journal de la Maison.

“We took our inspiration from Venice, adopting some of the codes of Italian design such as varnished wood, ceramics, Murano glass, and gingham reminiscent of Italian tablecloths. We wanted to move away from the clichéd Italian decor and offer something more elaborate, more subtle, more welcoming,” she adds.

The refined and colorful interior is indeed highlighted by terracotta tiles in terracotta and old pink hues, pink marble, green velvet benches and golden mirrors. Every detail has been carefully thought out, from the handcrafted ceramic wall lights to the fluted wood of the furniture and the chairs with graphic patterns.

Authentic and generous Italian cuisine

In the kitchen, a duo of Italian chefs enhance the flavors of the region with cuisine that respects tradition. Each dish of the day features typical, entirely homemade recipes: fresh pasta, pizza, focaccia and even the choux pastry for the profiteroles!

To start, we let ourselves be tempted by the antipasti: crudo of fish, creamy burrata on a bed of heirloom tomatoes, spinach shoots with pecorino, poivrade artichokes, fried calamari… the choice is vast and the flavors are sunny!

It’s hard to resist the very gourmet truffle pizza. A thin, crispy dough topped with a generous, creamy filling.

The pasta alle vongole will delight fans with their al dente cooking, tasty seafood and refined olive oil sauce.

We also enjoyed the tuna steak, deliciously seared with olives and capers and cooked to perfection.

We ended our Italian journey with a sweet touch: the roasted pear with honey from the owner’s estate convinced us once and for all of the quality of the products.

For the “aperitivo”, the Spritz is revisited with Limoncello (or White Martini)

At Miglia, the aperitivo hour is sacred! On the program: a selection of Spritzes, from the classic Aperol-Prosecco to revisited versions with limoncello or white Martini.

For cocktail lovers, there are the great Italian classics such as the Negroni or the Americano, not to mention a very fine selection of Sicilian and Tuscan wines.

Whether for a sunny lunch, a convivial dinner or an aperitif with colleagues and friends, Miglia offers a true Italian getaway.
