Ritz-Carlton, which entered the yachting business in 2020 after building a stellar reputation for years in the luxury hotel world, just announced that its first cruise is scheduled for August 2022. Two new yachts are also expected to join the Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection fleet by 2025.
Conquest of the seas began in 2017 for Ritz-Carlton and this summer, the brand’s first luxury cruise ship to hit the water will be the Evrima, a 190-metre vessel unlike any other. And while the yacht has yet to set sail, it looks like two more superyachts will soon join the fleet.
The group recently announced plans to add two more ships to its collection, Ilma and Luminara, to be built in France at the Chantiers de l’Atlantique shipyard. The exterior design of these ultra-luxury cruise ships will be handled by Finland-based Aivan, while the interior design will be handled by London-based AD Associates.
The yachts will have 228 suites, each with its own private terrace. Ilma and Luminara will have a high percentage of large suites, with two new categories measuring up to 100 m² each!

Both vessels will be primarily powered by LNG (liquefied natural gas) and will be equipped with four dual-fuel engines. Advanced water treatment systems, an efficient heat recovery loop and LED lighting will ensure that the ships have a reduced environmental impact.
Like Evrima, which offers access to a personal concierge in each of its 149 suites, the two new cruise ships will offer an onboard experience that reflects the exemplary service for which the Ritz-Carlton brand is known and highly regarded around the world. Both yachts will feature five restaurants, six bars, a wine cellar and the signature spaces also found on Evrima : an expanded marina with a new mezzanine, a spa and a dedicated Ritz Kids programme area.
The Ritz-Carlton plans to launch the Ilma and Luminara in 2024 and 2025, respectively, while the Evrima is expected to set sail this summer 2022.
