Get out the cameras. With their original and unique designs that tantalise the eye from the moment you enter, these five lifestyle hotels in Paris are a perfect blend of the cosy, intimate atmosphere of boutique hotels and the elegance and luxury of the City of Light.
The Hoxton
A lifestyle boutique hotel par excellence, The Hoxton, in the 2nd arrondissement, is housed in the former 18th-century home of Etienne Rivié, advisor to Louis XIV. The address boasts a typically Parisian setting, with original staircases and an incredible glass roof enhanced by colourful velvet armchairs. It’s a place you’ll want to Instagram, just like the dishes in the Rivié brasserie, the wine bar set in an inner courtyard or the intimate cocktail bar.
The style of the 172 rooms oscillates between modern and industrial, with their tiled bathrooms, typical 50s materials, herringbone parquet flooring and colourful designer walls.
La Fantaisie
Located in the Faubourg Montmartre in the 9th arrondissement, this green paradise boasts a sublime indoor garden and a roof terrace dotted with fig and olive trees, with panoramic views of the Sacré-Cœur. The underground spa features four cascading pools, a hammam, a sauna and three treatment rooms.
The 63 rooms and 10 suites are decorated with cane-upholstered backrests, naturalistic vases, floral wallpaper, soft colours, gold details and mosaic bathrooms.
And for a culinary moment of excellence, head for the restaurant run by Dominique Crenn. In an atmosphere worthy of a sunny, bucolic garden, between striped and flowery walls in shades of coral, soft green, yellow and vintage pink, the teams serve seasonal and eco-responsible dishes.
Maison Albar Le Vendôme
Head for the capital’s 9th arrondissement. Maison Albar Le Vendôme, not far from the Opéra Garnier, is home to 51 modern, elegant rooms whose golden details and emerald green accents are enhanced by white marble and parquet flooring.
Japanese flavours mingle with Mediterranean and exotic influences in Olivier Da Costa’s Yakuza restaurant. A fusion of East and West, where fresh fish takes pride of place. The spa is like a gentle bubble, with a sublime swimming pool nestling in a soothing, chic atmosphere.
Le Grand Mazarin
Head to the 4th arrondissement of Paris to discover this private mansion set in a historic 14th-century building. With its film decor and hushed atmosphere, Le Grand Mazarin boasts 50 rooms and 11 suites where pretty vintage colours combine with soft, retro shapes. From the Art Deco lobby to the spa with its mosaic-covered swimming pool and boudoir-style reception area, Le Grand Mazarin is like a cabinet of curiosities, where the whimsical decor invites you to journey into an enchanted world.
Chef Assaf Granit’s Boubalé restaurant transforms modest Ashkenazi cuisine into colourful, tasty and glamorous dishes. You can also enjoy a cocktail break in the hotel’s two bars, which are also enveloped in this original and creative atmosphere.
The Grand Hôtel du Palais Royal
Nestling just a stone’s throw from the Palais Royal in the heart of Paris, the hotel’s location will bring back memories for Emily in Paris afficionados. The hotel is right in front of the Place de Valois, home of the Agence Savoir, Emily’s workplace in the famous Netflix series. The capital can be admired from the terrace of the healthy restaurant Café 52, run by chef Maxime Raab.
The hotel has 59 rooms and suites, some of which have balconies. A wellness area completes the services offered by the Grand Hôtel du Palais Royal.
