Disneyland Paris to welcome Frozen land in 2026

Disneyland Paris is set to open in March 2026 the mythical Frozen-themed “Land,” dedicated to the two blockbuster films produced by the company. A snowy universe filled with countless attractions and magical settings.

In 2013, a film shook the world of animation. Frozen became a tidal wave in the cinema world, generating 1.28 billion dollars at the global box office. Disney’s story features Elsa, gifted with the power to create ice and snow, who isolates herself out of fear of hurting her kingdom, and her sister Anna, who sets off to find her in hopes of restoring love and joy to the castle of Arendelle. Awarded an Oscar, the song Let It Go became an anthem for children everywhere. Frozen also received the Oscar for Best Animated Feature. Six years later, Frozen 2 was released, bringing back Elsa, Anna and their friends Kristoff, Olaf and Sven. This second film brought in 1.45 billion dollars at the box office, once again proving a major success for Disney, which took advantage of this massive popularity to release a wide range of profitable merchandise. All that was missing to complete this magical world was a dedicated area in the company’s Paris theme park.

What will visitors find in the Frozen Land?

Revealed in 2018, the “World of Frozen” project at Disneyland Paris finally has an opening date: spring 2026, specifically March 29. The inauguration has faced numerous delays, with a building permit signed in 2019 and construction beginning in 2020 but slowed by Covid-19. After years of anticipation, Disneyland has released some photos of the area currently under construction, offering a glimpse of a snowy, enchanting world designed to amaze visitors of all ages.

Upon entering this dreamlike district, visitors will be immediately struck by a 40-meter mountain and a three-hectare lake. Arendelle Castle will stand at the center of this 100% Nordic-inspired space, along with the Ice Palace and the Friendship Fountain. Iconic characters from the film will greet fans of the franchise, including Anna and Elsa as well as Mossie, the little troll full of stories, and Oaken, the kingdom’s most cheerful shopkeeper.

On the entertainment side, Disneyland Paris will feature the attraction Frozen Ever After, known in French as La Reine des Neiges Pour Toujours et à Jamais. This musical cruise takes visitors on a journey through the North Mountain toward Elsa’s Ice Palace. A live show will also be performed several times a day in the park, while barges will glide across the lake during the nighttime spectacle.

Two stores will also be set up, offering iconic souvenirs, traditional wooden crafts and Nordic-inspired knitwear. In the Fjord View Shop, an interactive troll will entertain families. A makeup and hairstyling corner will allow younger visitors to fully immerse themselves in the Frozen universe.

A Nordic culinary experience

Frozen Land will also include a restaurant: the Nordic Crowns Tavern. This Art Nouveau–inspired establishment will offer views of the lake and the Nordic village, further immersing visitors in the Frozen world. Inside, colorful stained-glass windows and nature motifs will blend with Arendelle’s Nordic architecture.

Unsurprisingly, the restaurant will serve Nordic-inspired dishes while remaining accessible to international tastes and the preferences of younger guests. Visitors will be able to build their own meal from 16 possible combinations. They will choose a base, such as mashed potatoes, then a protein ranging from grilled salmon to comforting meatballs. Vegetables and sauces made with cranberries and dill will complete the customizable plates. Vegan and gluten-free options will be available. For dessert, visitors can enjoy icy treats such as a blue Elsa-style sorbet, vanilla ice cream with toppings, and a snowflake-shaped dessert. Enough to feel like a true Arendelle resident for the duration of a warm and magical meal!
