Half boat, half hot tub: the Spacruzzi innovation

With its line of jacuzzi boats, Spacruzzi is reinventing the boating experience. While these mini-vessels appeal to those who love relaxing by the water, they also prove to be a profitable business for operators.

Imagine gliding across a lake, your skin gently caressed by the sun, the sound of the water lulling you into a moment of tranquility… all while enjoying a rejuvenating and invigorating hot tub. That’s exactly what Spacruzzi offers with its mini boats featuring a built-in hot tub where warm water and massage jets enhance the experience on the water. A sure delight for wellness enthusiasts.

Suitable for all kinds of outings

Designed, manufactured, and assembled in factories in Montana, USA, Spacruzzi boats feature a white hull, synthetic teak decking, a steel tower with a canopy, and watertight compartments. Equipped with an electric motor, the company’s new line—available in limited editions and made to order—features a built-in pool with hot water and massage jets: a true jacuzzi at sea. The water heats up in 45 minutes thanks to a propane heating system, a new innovation from Spacruzzi. Guests can thus enjoy a boat ride amid varied scenery while relaxing in a micro-spa pool that seems to extend out over the water.

While well-being is a priority for travelers of all ages, and the desire for experiential luxury is rapidly catching up to interest in material goods, the current operators of Spacruzzi have noted that spa boats are proving highly popular among people who are not particularly drawn to traditional boat rentals—especially women aged 18 to 60. This hybrid version can also appeal to people accustomed to sea excursions who are looking to change up their boating routines. Another advantage of these boats is their versatility for all kinds of groups. Whether it’s a birthday celebration with friends, a bachelorette party, a romantic date, or a special parent-child outing… With room for up to six people, any kind of getaway is possible.

Bringing wellness spaces to hotels

For operators, hot tub boats seem to be a great business opportunity. For one thing, they can be rented year-round. “Reservations are on the rise all year round, even during the coldest months, as customers flock to this unique experience during the holidays. The buzz on social media has turned it into a lasting trend,” explained Jay Roper, owner of Spa Ventures.

Furthermore, the profitability appears to be attractive. “From a purely mathematical standpoint, the per-unit economic performance of the Hot Tub Boat model is remarkably strong. With daily net profits exceeding $1,200 per vessel and monthly returns approaching $25,000, the payback period is measured in months, not years. In one case study, two boats generated more than $166,000 in profits in a single quarter. These figures reflect a scalable, high-margin opportunity that combines luxury with operational simplicity. “According to my analysis, this isn’t just a clever idea—it’s a disruptive business model, backed by data, offering significant return potential,” explained Dr. Pavel Solin, a mathematician and professor, in a Spacruzzi press release.

This is a great business opportunity for rental companies located by the sea or on lakes, as well as for hotels with a dock. Incorporating hot tub boats into their offerings is a way to stand out, at a time when all waterfront establishments are offering water activities ranging from stand-up paddleboarding to personalized cruises and wakeboarding. Luxury hotels can also feature these hot tub boats on their spa menus, effectively extending their wellness offerings to a new setting.
