The famous cosmetics brand L’Oréal Paris and the prestigious fashion designer Elie Saab have decided to join forces for an exclusive collection, combining beauty and Haute Couture. An eventful collaboration mixing styles.
Born in Lebanon, Elie Saab became fascinated with the world of fashion at a very young age. He taught himself to sew, his sisters became his models and his mother’s wardrobe his inspiration. He wants his creations to be magical, made of lace and embroidery, with a “princess” look. Today, he is a “corresponding member” of the Chambre syndicale de la Haute Couture and has the protected designation of Haute Couture.
He lives to sublimate all women, to give them confidence, to make them strong, through his creations. “I look for beauty above all, before fashion, before trends. The woman is the first of my inspirations”, declared the designer.
It is this leitmotif that he seeks to convey in this collection signed L’Oréal X Elie Saab. “Through this collection, I offer them products that they can use every day to feel more confident and elegant,” said Elie Saab.
Having already collaborated with Olivier Rousteing for Balmain, Isabel Marant and Karl Lagerfeld, it is now Elie Saab’s turn to make his entry into L’Oréal Paris. In addition, the brand has been teaming up with big names in the fashion industry for a few years now to sign exclusive make-up collaborations.
Haute Couture make-up
Through this collaboration, L’Oréal Paris and Elie Saab wanted to highlight in this collection a touch of elegance associated with craftsmanship.
For all lovers of beauty and Haute Couture, it will be possible to find in this capsule collection four cosmetics : a lipstick, a palette Haute Couture with colourful shades, a mascara Le Volume Haute Couture and a gloss Le Brillant Haute Couture.
The four products of the collection will be dressed in an elegant powder pink, the emblematic shade of the Elie Saab designer, with a touch of gold, for the oriental spirit of Elie Saab. The lipstick’s grape is embellished with a relief worked as a couture detail, to recall the embroidery of the House of Elie Saab.
Val Garland, artistic director of make-up at L’Oréal Paris, said that she wanted to create a collection that would be consistent with her world. “Imagining a make-up in accordance with her universe is what inspired me to create a shiny but subtle gloss, and glittery and shimmering eyeshadows”.
The two brands want this make-up collection to be aimed at free and powerful women, those who dream of conquering the world, with a view to boosting self-confidence.
“More than a couture collaboration, the launch of this collection in such a special context is a way for L’Oréal Paris and Elie Saab to bring optimism, beauty and self-esteem back to women; an accessible way for all women to indulge in an escape,” said Delphine Viguier-Hovasse, international general manager of L’Oréal Paris.
For the capsule collection campaign, model Cindy Bruna, a regular on the Elie Saab catwalk, will share the spotlight with two other models, Luma Grothe and Mej Jiang. This collection is a chance to indulge in a little bit of dreaming in the magical world of Elie Saab.
The exclusive L’Oréal X Elie Saab collection will be available from 6pm tonight on the loreal-paris.fr website.
