A luxury hotel for dogs and cats can be found in New York City. Called The Mark, the five-star establishment, unlike most palaces, accepts the presence of pets.
With the health crisis, the rate of pet adoption has skyrocketed. To meet the demand of these new owners, some hotel chains have decided to accept the presence of our animal friends, without however trying to respond directly to their needs.

That’s why the five-star The Mark Hotel in New York City is a unique establishment, designed to be a true paradise for dogs and cats, offering many amenities directly for them.
Located on New York’s Upper East Side, just a two-minute walk from Central Park, The Mark offers the comforts of home while maintaining its luxurious Manhattan hotel feel. The pet-friendly staff will welcome your best friends into this warm setting.
“At The Mark, we’ve always considered pets an extension of the family,” says Andrew Jeffries, director of sales and marketing for The Mark Hotel. “We strive to provide our guests with top-notch service with every detail in mind, so it was only natural to extend the same hospitality to our four-legged guests.”
“Our owners and many of our staff own pets themselves, so we know firsthand the love and care they receive. After all, why should the luxuries of life be reserved for humans only?“, he adds.
The rooms are set up in advance to best suit the animals’ needs, and inside, your furry friend can enjoy amenities such as a tent for playing and resting, bowls and accessories for meals and a Molly Mutt brand bed designed especially for them.
“Woof Woof” kits are provided to clients, and come in a leather pouch containing a leash, collapsible water bowls and waste bags. Treats are also custom made to reward your pet.
Jean-Georges‘ Mark’s Restaurant offers specially designed menus to delight the taste buds of dogs. Among them, there is a menu for “spoiled dogs“, while the main dishes (for pets) are based on chicken, vegetables, salmon, eggs and other fresh ingredients. There is even a breakfast menu for them, including cottage cheese and oatmeal.
“Our pet-friendly program and amenities were born and developed (pun intended) in-house, with independent designers and suppliers helping to bring our vision to life,” Jeffries says, referring to the hotel’s partnership with Poldo Dog Couture.
The palace also offers a number of services, and the team has relationships with dog walkers and groomers. “Traveling with your pet is not always luxury,” says The Mark Hotel‘s director of sales and marketing. “That’s why our guests continue to be surprised, impressed and, dare we say it, jealous of the care provided to The Mark’s furry guests“.
The hotel has no restrictions on the number of pets allowed per person, nor are there any limitations on weights or breeds. Dogs and cats are welcome at The Mark, which has seen an increase in the number of four-legged guests since the pandemic began.
“We have noticed an increase in the number of guests traveling with pets and expect this trend to continue. Many pets have a hard time remembering life without their owners, and fortunately, they don’t have to if mom and dad are staying at the Mark,” concludes Andrew Jeffries.
For a night at the dog and cat-friendly The Mark in New York City, expect to pay $1,075. A $250 cleaning fee per room applies, except for service animals.
