Watchmaking: the new products presented at LVMH Watch Week

Today marks the last day of the new edition of LVMH Watch Week. For two days, the watchmaking companies of the world’s leading luxury brand have been presenting their latest products.

Preceding the famous Watches & Wonders show, LVMH Watch Week, which has become a true benchmark for watchmaking professionals, takes place from January 10 to 12 in Singapore. The event allows the four iconic watch brands to present the often revolutionary new products for which they are renowned to the world’s media, retailers and the general public.

Bvlgari, “time is a jewel”

The Italian watchmaking House, proud of its heritage, continues to constantly renew itself. The latest models presented are inspired by the golden age, while remaining in tune with the times. Colorful, geometric, sparkling and intensely Italian, these innovative collections are timeless.

Diva’s Dream models are colorful, feminine, original and daring. A rainbow of gems blossoms in the design of these timepieces. Between diamonds, topaz, amethysts and rubies, declined in many colors, there is something for everyone. The shape of the dial is reminiscent of the ginkgo leaf, a symbol of union.

Two new Diva’s Dream Mosaica models were presented. On the fully set dial, a fan motif can be seen. Adorned with gold sapphires and diamonds in shades of pink, purple, blue and silver, these new models are Bvlgari’s signature. The rose gold model has a purple alligator leather strap. The blue sapphire model is accompanied by a spectacular bracelet made of fan-shaped links filled with diamonds.

Allegra is a sunny, acidic watch with sparkling shapes. Released in 2022, it has a flower-like appearance with a thin leather strap. It is adorned with pink, orange, green and yellow gems, reminiscent of summer and sunshine.

The Serpenti model from the Italian House is the most iconic. Since its inception, this timepiece, as elegant as it is original, has continued to evolve and change. The wrap-around Turbogas bracelet is the result of a complex technique of winding several meters of gold and steel wire. A synergy is created between the bracelet and the case of the Serpenti watch. Last year, Bvlgari excelled in watchmaking innovation with the design of the smallest existing mechanical movement, the Piccolissimo. The novelty of the Serpenti Tubogas Infinity model is the snake-like silhouette that continues from the case to the strap.

Zenith, “it’s time to reach for the stars”

The Swiss watchmaker presented during LVMH Watch Week three new watches from the DEFY series: the DEFY skyline Skeleton, the DEFY skyline 36 mm and the DEFY Extreme Glacier.

The DEFY skyline Skeleton is the first to be equipped with a 1/10th of a second indicator. Its sporty and modern design integrates the openworked automatic movement with an open star-shaped dial. The timepiece has a stainless steel case and a faceted bezel that references the first DEFY models. It will be priced at $11,000 with the option of a steel or rubber strap, blue or black.

The iconic DEFY has been updated with a slimmer steel case. Three new dial colors are available: pink, blue and green. The little extra? A diamond-set bezel can be added for sparkle lovers.

The latest model, the DEFY Extreme Glacier, is defined by a winter look, dominated by white and silver. Gemstones also creep in, and no two models are alike. Sold for $26,100, the DEFY Extreme Glacier features the El primero 21 caliber, which gives it a 50-hour power reserve.

Hublot, “the art of fusion

If we were to describe the Hublot watchmaking house, the appropriate word would be audacity. The brand, which has existed since 1980, is a fusion of tradition, innovation, craftsmanship, universe and talent. During the last edition of LVMH Watch Week, Hublot presented three new models.

The original Hublot Classic Fusion, which combines precious materials with rubber, is back with a new collection introducing new ideas, new colors and new formats. Available in yellow gold, titanium or black ceramic, it is available in several case sizes: 42mm, 38mm or 33mm. This timeless classic is produced in a limited edition of 500 pieces per model.

Since 2019, Hublot has supported the protection of rhinos through the Sorai organization. 2023 is marked by the launch of a third limited edition watch. The Hublot Big Bang Unico Sorai is housed in a gray ceramic case, reminiscent of the color of rhinos, with an openworked dial, adorned with bright colors. It features the One-click interchangeable strap system with a choice of fabric or rubber options.

Finally, discover the two new Big Bang Rainbow editions, adorned with a river of gemstones in a perfect gradation of colors reminiscent of the rainbow. The stones include rubies, amethysts, topaz and tsavorites as well as pink, orange, blue and yellow sapphires.

Tag Heuer: pushing the boundaries of watchmaking

Tag Heuer has unveiled a host of connected watches as well as new models like the Monza, one of the brand’s icons. It is reinterpreted in an ultra modern case. Its 42mm carbon case encloses a skeleton dial with translucent sapphire crystal sub-dials. Its flyback function allows the chronophage to be reset non-stop to indicate the duration of an event, the speed as well as the heart rate. Its price? 13,350 euros.

In April, during Watches & Wonders, Tag Heuer unveiled the first solar watch in its history. This innovation, called Solargraph, was part of the Aquaracer Professionnal 200 collection, which offers all the advantages of a diving watch with a 6-month autonomy. After carbon, the 40 mm wide watch with its translucent dial is made of titanium. Its price is 2,950 euros.

For the 60th anniversary of the Carrera chronograph model, Tag Heuer is unveiling a limited series of 600 pieces that reinterprets the iconic 1963 model. Its 39mm case features a panda-inspired dial, which recalls the colors of the animal. It has an 80-hour power reserve. The dial is accompanied by a black calf leather strap. Its price is 7,100 euros.

Finally, the brand has presented many models of connected watches and intends to let its competitors know its strong position in the niche.
