Art, fashion or history: spring opens with several exhibitions in Paris and around the world, exploring each of the unique worlds that invite to escape and reflect.

 

Matisse. 1941-1954 – Grand Palais – Paris

 

“Matisse. 1941-1954” at the Grand Palais, Paris, explores the final years of Henri Matisse’s creation. Unveiled from 24 March to 26 July 2026, more than 230 works – paintings, drawings, books, textiles, stained glass and especially his famous cut-out gouaches – retrace how, between 1941 and 1954, the artist invented a singular plastic language. We rediscover his major series like Intérieurs de Vence, the album Jazz and iconic figures such as La Tristesse du roi and les Nus bleus, revealing his creative freedom and the intensity of his color until the end of his artistic life.

 

Byblos, eternal city – Institut du Monde Arabe – Paris

 

 

From March 24 to August 23, 2026, “Byblos, eternal city” at the Arab World Institute delves into the history of Byblos, one of the oldest seaports in the world. Objects, sculptures, royal adornments and archaeological treasures… more than 470 exceptional pieces tell 9,000 years of urbanization and cultural exchanges between the Lebanese coast, ancient Egypt, Mesopotamia and the Aegean world. The exhibition highlights the major role of Byblos in the dissemination of the Phoenician writing and presents recent discoveries, including an intact necropolis from the Bronze Age, offering a spectacular immersion into this ancestral civilization.

 

Unicorn! – Musée de Cluny-National Museum of the Middle Ages – Paris

 

The Cluny Museum – National Museum of the Middle Ages dedicates the exhibition “Unicorn!” to the mythical unicorn in Western art and imagination. The route traces the evolution of this symbol between pure myth and art, from its medieval representations to its lasting influence in culture. Visitors can notably discover how the unicorn embodies ideas of purity, sacredness and desire, by confronting historical works with more modern interpretations, and thus explore the role of this fascinating creature in narratives, the arts and beliefs through the centuries. Appointment from March 13 to July 12, 2026.

K-Beauty – Musée national des arts asiatiques – Guimet – Paris

 

 

The Guimet Museum presents the exhibition ‘K-Beauty: Korean Beauty, Story of a Phenomenon’, which explores Korean aesthetics from the late 18th century to today. Through paintings, photographs, advertisements, clothing and accessories, the journey reveals how the culture of beauty in Korea has evolved, linking traditional rituals, Confucian principles of balance and contemporary innovations. A spotlight on the global influence of K-Beauty, going well beyond cosmetics to shape aesthetic standards integrated into fashion, media and contemporary popular culture. Organized from March 18 to July 6, 2026.

 

Elsa Schiaparelli: Fashion Becomes Art – Victoria and Albert Museum – London

 

At the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, a major exhibition dedicated to Elsa Schiaparelli opens on March 28, 2026, and continues until November. Called ‘Elsa Schiaparelli: Fashion Becomes Art’, it traces the history of this great 20th century couturier, from her avant-garde creations of the 1920s to artistic collaborations with Picasso, Man Ray and others, mixing fashion, art and design.

A Second Life – Tate Modern – London

 

The Tate Modern is dedicating a major retrospective to Tracey Emin with the exhibition “A Second Life”. Paintings, installations and unpublished works explore love, trauma and resilience through 40 years of career. A Second Life”, open from February 26 to August 30, 2026, offers a sensitive dive into the singular and intimate universe of the artist. The tour highlights how memory, the body and intimacy become artistic material, captivating the visitor with the emotion and narrative strength of the works.

 

Hikmah – Centre for Contemporary Arts Tashkent – Uzbekistan

 

 

At the Centre for Contemporary Arts in Tashkent, the exhibition “Hikmah” transforms the industrial space into an artistic dialogue about wisdom and community. Works created in situ by international artists question intelligence, sharing and social interaction. Hikmah”, presented from March 21 to June 30, 2026, invites you to an immersive and contemporary experience in the heart of Central Asia. The visitor is invited to actively participate in the installations and reflect on human connections, making the experience both interactive and deeply reflective.
