Auction of collector’s items signed by L’Wren Scott

Archive pieces of the late designer L’Wren Scott will be auctioned on July 1st. Among them, jackets that belonged to the rocker Mick Jagger and dresses worn by actresses Nicole Kidman and Sarah Jessica Parker.

The famous auction house Christie‘s will hold an auction of 55 pieces by the designer L’Wren Scott on July 1. The famous designer, who took her own life in 2014, was Mick Jagger‘s girlfriend at the time of his death at the age of 49.

The auction marks the first time a collection from Scott‘s archive has come to market. Christie‘s London sales manager Caitlin Yates said the idea for the sale came directly from Mick Jagger.

It was Mick Jagger who decided to put this on the market to celebrate L’Wren Scott,” she explained. Of the 55 lots, two jackets made in collaboration between Scott and Jagger and having belonged to the famous rocker of the Rolling Stones are offered for auction.

The first is a sequin jacket embroidered with oak leaves in camouflage style, worn by Mick Jagger in 2013 at the Glastonbury music festival. The second is a sequin jacket adorned with beaded butterflies and worn by the singer in the same year during a concert given as part of his tour with the Rolling Stones, “50 & Counting” in Hyde Park in London. Both jackets have an estimated price tag of between 20,000 pounds and 30,000 pounds.

She was so completely elegant and glamorous and she had this feeling that everything should be like it was in the old Hollywood days. Everything was just luxury and romance,” said Caitlin Yates. “All the materials she used were the finest…everything was handmade, she had a great attention to detail“.

Two other highly anticipated pieces at this auction: the dress worn by Nicole Kidman in 2013 for the Oscar ceremony, estimated between 1500€ to 2000€. A 1940s sequin dress worn by Madonna is expected to fetch between £500 and £800.

All proceeds from the auction will go to the L’Wren Scott Foundation, which Jagger established in 2015 as a tribute to the designer, for the London-based Central St Martins School of Art. “L’Wren was a talented and passionate designer with a keen eye for detail“, Mick Jagger said through a statement. “Everyone who wore her dresses was at the center of her designs“.
