Casa del Sol, the luxury tequila made in Eva Longoria

She is a producer, director, iconic actress and made famous internationally for her role as Gabrielle Solis in the hit series Desperate Housewives, Eva Longoria is embarking on a brand new adventure that is surprising to say the least. She has just co-founded a new luxury tequila brand, Casa Del Sol.


This September marks the beginning of an ambitious new project for Eva Longoria. She announced the launch of her luxury brand, Casa Del Sol Tequila. The actress said about her brand “We wanted to offer a brand that stands out from the rest.”




Born to Mexican-American parents, Eva Longoria uses her background and heritage, as a selling point for Casa Del Sol. “I’ve always been on a mission to raise the voice of women and celebrate my Mexican heritage, so that others can be inspired by the boundless genius and artistry that is rich in our communities“, she explains.


However, Eva Longoria did not embark on this adventure alone and is accompanied by two young women who are Mariana Padilla and Alejandra Pelayo. M.Padilla will bring the DNA of generations rich in culture and artistic heritage in the brand. A.Pelayo will be responsible for the production and quality control of Casa Del Sol. She is also the goddaughter of Francisco Alcaraz, a master distiller who passed away last April and was the creator of one of the most popular tequilas in the world: the Patrón.



Casa Del Sol Tequila is billed as a luxury spirits brand and “made from the finest hand-selected 100% Blue Weber agave from the rich clay soil of the Jalisco highlands in Mexico“. The spirits are also aged in French oak cognac barrels, an added bonus for this fledgling brand.




In creating Casa Del Sol, we wanted to offer a brand that stood out from the rest. From liquid to heritage, we took the time to develop an ultra-premium tequila focused on authenticity and a distinct flavor profile“, said the actress.


For the moment, Casa Del Sol is composed of only three Tequila: “Blanco“, “Reposado” and “Añejo“.


Blanco” is best enjoyed in the sun and has notes of fresh agave, mint and is warmed by notes of spice and caramelized green apple.



Reposado” is best enjoyed in the golden hour. Its woody aroma evokes sweet vanilla with notes of raisin and sweet tobacco. To the taste, we find notes of wild honey, raisin and butterscotch.



Finally, “Añejo” is best enjoyed at sunset and has notes of dark cocoa, dried fruit, toasted oak and vanilla. The taste has notes of caramel, apricot, oak and chestnut.



The design of this tequila also relies on the opportunity to show that this field remains quite catalogued by the male gender: “Eight percent of tequila producers are women. It’s a very male-dominated industry“, says Eva Longoria. The actress has the opportunity to highlight these women who evolve in areas where they are not in the majority, and wants to change things.


Casa Del Sol Tequila is available at select retail outlets and restaurants in California, Colorado and Florida in the United States. If you don’t live in the United States, you can pre-order it on the Casa Del Sol website. The prices of these ultra-premium tequilas range from $59 to $99.
