Golden Globes Awards 2026: a ceremony combining cinema and glamour

The 83rd Golden Globes Awards ceremony was held on January 11 in California, bringing together cinema icons such as Timothée Chalamet, Jennifer Lawrence, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Emma Stone. Here’s a look back at the evening’s winners and the most remarkable looks on the red carpet.

 

The awards season is officially underway. On January 11, 2026, the cream of the crop of film and television gathered in Beverly Hills for the 83rd Golden Globe Awards ceremony, one of the most anticipated events of the year in Hollywood. Organized annually by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, these awards recognize the best films and series released in 2025 and often serve as a barometer for the Oscar race. It’s an evening where glamour and cinema come together, attended by some of the world’s biggest celebrities.

 

Timothée Chalamet, One Battle After Another, Hamnet, Adolescence…

 

The ceremony confirmed two big winners on the film side. Hamnet took home the Golden Globe for Best Motion Picture – Drama, while Jessie Buckley was crowned Best Actress in the film for her performance, hailed as one of the most powerful of the year.

 

But the most spectacular triumph of the evening went to One Battle After Another. Paul Thomas Anderson’s feature film, with Leonardo Di Caprio, won the Golden Globe for Best Motion Picture – Comedy or Musical, before seeing its director crowned with the Golden Globe for Best Director and the Golden Globe for Best Screenplay. The film also earned Teyana Taylor the Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress.

 

The acting awards also highlighted several outstanding performances. Timothée Chalamet won the Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Motion Picture – Comedy or Musical for Marty Supreme. In the drama category, Wagner Moura was honored with the Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama for The Secret Agent. Stellan Skarsgård received the Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actor for Sentimental Value. Music was also celebrated with the Golden Globe for Best Original Score going to Ludwig Göransson for Sinners, while the film KPop Demon Hunters won the Golden Globe for Best Animated Feature Film and Best Original Song.

Television was not left out on this evening. The Pitt won the Golden Globe for Best Drama Series, and its lead actor, Noah Wyle, was awarded the Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Drama Series. In comedy, The Studio won the Golden Globe for Best Series – Comedy or Musical, while Seth Rogen won the Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Comedy Series. Jean Smart was once again honored with the Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Comedy Series for Hacks.

 

The miniseries Adolescence became one of the big television successes of the evening, winning the Golden Globe for Best Miniseries, as well as several acting awards, including the Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Miniseries for Stephen Graham. Owen Cooper, an actor in Adolescence, became the youngest Golden Globe winner ever by winning the award for Best Supporting Actor in a Television Series, and Erin Doherty also received a Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress in a Television Series.

Leslie Mann‘s perfectly structured Balenciaga dress featured a bustier with thin cuffs on the arms, a fitted waist, and sculpted hips, all contrasted by long white gloves.

 

Jennifer Lawrence wore a sheer Givenchy dress embroidered with light pink and green flowers, along with a satin stole in the same shades.

 

Ariana Grande chose Vivienne Westwood. The actress and singer wore a textured black dress with a puffed skirt.

 

It was also the moment for the nightie! Zoë Kravitz opted for Saint Laurent and a long salmon pink satin couture-style dress, adorned with lace at the ends and thin olive green straps.

 

Adorned with Bvlgari jewelry, Priyanka Chopra wore a blue Dior dress, consisting of a satin bustier cinched at the waist with a bow and a two-tiered skirt with a ball effect.

Amal Clooney wore a custom-made vintage design by Pierre Balmain from the Fall/Winter 1957 Haute Couture collection, named “Erato” in homage to the Greek muse of lyric poetry, made from red silk chiffon.
Gucci designed Elle Fanning‘s perfectly fitted light blue sequined dress. The best part? An elegant V-neckline and semi-sheer straps.

 

Jennifer Lopez played it bold with a semi-sheer Jean-Louis Scherrer chiffon dress embellished with a brown pattern and a flared cut from the knees down.

Finally, Emily Blunt, in Louis Vuitton, wore a long white skirt with a curved one-sleeve top featuring four silver buttons.
