Rare Champagne unveils its collaboration with artist William Amor

The Champagne house recently revealed that its latest collaboration around the Millesime 2012 rosé Champagne was imagined with visual artist William Amor.

Rare Champagne has just revealed its collaboration with William Amor, who has created a collection of Mathusalems Rare Rosé Millésime 2012. The artist committed to the planet offers a second chance to abandoned materials by transforming them into a garden of poetic flowers: the messenger creations.

The collaboration with the artist began at the end of 2021 with his visit to the Champagne lands of the House. “It’s about putting art, know-how and beauty at the service of the environment,” says Maud Rabin, Director of Rare Champagne.

William Amor has worked the ornament of a Methuselah Rare Rosé Vintage 2012 in the manner of a jewel adorned with flowers. “I wanted to express the aromas of Rare Rosé Millésime 2012. To interpret elegance through a royal jewel,” he explains.

The bottle’s adornment is composed solely of scraps and/or waste: the recycled aluminum cap, a cleaned plastic bag, loosened into lais then dried in the Italian way and colored with pigments before being crumpled, metamorphose into cherry and grape flowers and leaves. “I take everyday waste (plastic bags and/or bottles) and turn them into flowers, but I have also transformed the tartar from champagne vats into crystallized pendants called the “Jewels of the Crown” and defibrated fishing nets to make pistils bloom…” reveals William Amor.

The proceeds from the sales of this collaboration will be donated to associations working for the environment.
