Sorio: The Period Swimsuit That Finally Frees You to Swim

What if your period no longer meant saying goodbye to diving into the pool or taking a dip in the ocean? Designed for swimming without a tampon, Sorio period swimsuits offer an innovative, discreet, and effective alternative that lets you enjoy the water stress-free.

It all started with an observation. A few years ago, Estelle and Romain realized a paradox: menstrual underwear is becoming increasingly mainstream, freeing women’s daily lives and improving their comfort, but the joy of swimming remains hindered by periods.

In 2022, the duo decided to create a brand to allow women to enjoy the beach and the pool without tampons. Their one-piece and two-piece period swimwear was born.

“Every day, we’re guided by the desire to provide the best solution for experiencing your period differently,” explain founder and co-manager Romain and CEO and co-manager Estelle.

Four-layer technology

Developed with an engineer specializing in textiles, the menstrual swimsuits function like regular underwear, with built-in protection.

The technology is based on four layers: a hypoallergenic lining to ensure privacy, a honeycomb-structured zone to allow blood to pass through, an absorbent fabric that retains menstrual flow, and a waterproof outer fabric treated with anti-chlorine and UV protection, which also prevents swelling in water.

The fabrics are OEKO-TEX® 100 certified, a label also known as “Confiance Textile” in France, and the swimsuits are designed to be worn for several hours.

One Sorio menstrual swimsuit is equivalent to 300 tampons, or five years of peace of mind, with the assurance that you won’t be able to tell it apart from a regular swimsuit.

A simple and elegant design, comfortable to wear

The designs reflect this philosophy. Generally available in black, but also in a few shades of green and blue, the swimsuits are simple, basic, and elegant. Here, there are no unnecessary frills, no thongs that split the buttocks, or high-cut styles that are uncomfortable during your period.

One-piece, two-piece with high-waisted bottoms, swim skirts, triangle tops with tie-fronts… The ranges areavailable from XXS to XXL, with different absorption levels depending on the woman and her menstrual flow (light, medium, and heavy). Swimsuits for teens are also available, allowing young girls to have fun and continue living normally, even during their periods.

Although more than 200,000 women already trust Sorio, the brand offers its customers the chance to test its products for 100 days (with a money-back guarantee) and pay in three installments. The swimsuits are available on their website, as well as on Amazon and in Decathlon stores starting in April 2026. They are also available at partner pharmacies.

Eco-friendly commitments and support for women’s causes

Between environmental commitment and women’s causes, Sorio draws a clear line. On the environmental front, the brand actively supports organizations dedicated to preserving marine biodiversity, such as Coral Guardian and Wings for the Ocean. This commitment is also part of a broader initiative: Sorio is a member of the 1% for the Planet program, which encourages companies to donate a portion of their revenue to environmental initiatives.

But Sorio also takes concrete action on the social front. Committed to supporting women and teenage girls, the brand champions the menstrual health cause, particularly among the most vulnerable populations. It donates menstrual swimwear to the UCRM (Union Cépière Robert Monnier), an association based in Occitanie. This organization supports people facing social exclusion or precarious living conditions by helping them access housing, training, or employment.
