The 15 most beautiful beaches in Europe

The American travel comparison website Tripadvisor has unveiled its selection from its user reviews of the 25 most beautiful beaches in the Old Continent. If you are still hesitating about the ideal destination for your escape, here are the first 15 beaches of the ranking.

This summer, many French people are planning to leave the country to go to the most beautiful destinations in Europe. According to the 2021 ranking of the most popular European cities by the specialized website Best Destinations in Europe, the city of Braga in Portugal is the most coveted destination.

The study, conducted in more than 190 countries and with hundreds of thousands of voters, places the city of Rome, Italy, in second place, followed closely by Cavtat, Croatia. The fourth and fifth places in the ranking are occupied by Florence, Italy, and Sibiu în România.

With the introduction of a European “green certificate“, already being tested in France and Malta since May 10, and which should be officially launched in June, French citizens should be able to move freely by presenting their QR code. Indeed, this health passport is presented in the form of a QR code, which will be scanned and will inform the vaccination certificate of its holder, or will allow it to display its negative PCR test, thus avoiding tests in airports or quarantines imposed.

One of the criteria favored by tourists this summer? The opportunity to enjoy a vacation in the sun, near the sea. After a year marked by the health crisis, it is important for travelers to be able to relax in this seaside setting, on these endless stretches of white sand. For the occasion, let’s go back to the 15 most beautiful beaches in Europe.

15. Sotavento Beach, in Fuerteventura, Spain

This remarkably clean beach extends endlessly. Noise is absent in this popular place for scuba divers, but also for nudists.

14. Reynisfjara Beach, in Iceland

Spelunkers and photographers will find shoes to fit their feet on this beach. The powerful waves surrounding this beauty nevertheless make this place as beautiful as it is dangerous for swimmers!

13. Sarakiniko Beach, in Milos, Greece

On the island of Milos, here is the biggest attraction: Sarakiniko, which reflects a beautiful white sand, a consequence of the erosion of the volcanic rock by the waves of the Aegean Sea. How to resist a jump from the top of the rocks into these deep waters ?

12. Ses Illetes Beach, in Formentara, Spain

A real postcard: turquoise waters, white sand and boats at times, this natural domain remains very popular and very frequented by summer time: the first arrived will be the first served !

11. Fellsfjara Beach, Iceland

Iceland is full of incredible landscapes, and here is one that does not escape the rule: a volcanic beach in the south of the country where the high seas wash the icebergs, similar to diamonds, hence its nickname of Diamond Beach.

10. Porthminster Beach, England

England also enters the ranking, for its family beach offering an incredible view on the Godrevy lighthouse. Take the time between two swims to enjoy the 18-hole mini-golf course a few meters from the sand.

9. Kleftiko Beach, on the island of Milos, Greece

Accessible by boat, this place of swimming and diving highlights grandiose cliffs and hills that will make your camera happy.

8. Santa Giulia, in Corsica

7. Elafonissi Beach, in Crete

This island hides multiple stories of pirates and shipwrecks, but inspires relaxation, and remains a natural wealth for all fans of fauna and flora.

6. The lagoon of Balos in Crete, Greece

No waves on the horizon, come and swim in the clear and calm waters of the lagoon and admire the high landscapes that border the beach of Balos.
