With every high-profile wedding, a new trend emerges. From sleek silhouettes to spectacular décor, celebrities are now shaping the global wedding aesthetic.
In August 2025, an Instagram post set the internet ablaze. Georgina Rodriguez shared with her 72 million followers a photo of her massive engagement ring, estimated at up to five million dollars. Announcing her marriage to Cristiano Ronaldo, the celebration is one of the most anticipated of summer 2026. While the event could take place in Madeira, Portugal, the football superstar’s hometown, the décor and atmosphere – but especially the looks and accessories—will be closely watched worldwide.
That same month, Taylor Swift revealed her engagement to Travis Kelce. Her black-and-white striped Polo Ralph Lauren dress went viral on social platforms and sold out within minutes of the photos being posted. The brand reportedly generated around 6.8 million dollars in media value within 48 hours.

In early January 2026, Zendaya, who is in a relationship with Tom Holland, was also seen wearing a large diamond ring on her left hand, revealing her discreet engagement. As with other major celebrity weddings – especially those highly visible on social media – these upcoming unions are expected to influence the entire industry.
The study “The Influence of Social Media and Influencers on Preferences and Trends in the Wedding Dress Industry,” published in 2025 in the academic journal Universal Library of Business and Economics (ULBEC), shows that social media and influencers now play a dominant role in shaping wedding trends. They accelerate fashion cycles and strengthen expectations for personalization among brides-to-be, directly driving sales.
Celebrations and sleek silhouettes
Where trade shows, films, close circles, and specialized magazines were once the main sources of inspiration for engaged couples, the rise of social media and the elevation of stars to major influencers have reshuffled the bridal landscape. Couples now design their ceremonies inspired by celebrity weddings, whether lavish or intimate, that capture the imagination.
Royal weddings are, of course, closely followed by both the public and industry professionals. In 2011, Kate Middleton married Prince William at Westminster. Her Alexander McQueen dress, with lace, long sleeves, and a princess silhouette, revived a romantic and classic style, bringing traditional, fairy-tale-inspired gowns back into fashion. Seven years later, Meghan Markle married Prince Harry in Windsor with a more modern approach. Her sleek, structured Givenchy dress broke with traditional codes and popularized a minimalist, understated, and contemporary aesthetic.

In a completely different style, Sofia Richie and Elliot Grainge married in 2023 in the south of France in a highly publicized wedding. The bride’s Chanel dress—minimalist and elegant, inspired by 1990s silhouettes—marked a shift toward “quiet luxury” in the bridal world. The event, widely shared on TikTok, helped popularize clean looks, polished buns, and neutral color palettes.
Nicola Peltz’s Valentino Haute Couture gown at her 2022 wedding to Brooklyn Beckham, with its clean design and straight lines, reinforced the appeal of ultra-structured, sophisticated silhouettes inspired by runway fashion.

Embroidered veils and glamorous style
In 2019, Hailey Bieber and Justin Bieber tied the knot in South Carolina alongside 150 guests and a host of celebrities. Her minimalist yet chic lace mermaid gown by Virgil Abloh, the late founder and artistic director of Off-White, made a strong impression. The centerpiece of her look was her embroidered veil reading “TILL DEATH DO US PART,” which contributed to the surge in personalized veils.

Continuing the trend of iconic veils, Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker celebrated their 2022 wedding in Italy, entirely styled by Dolce & Gabbana. The bride’s lace corseted mini dress and her dramatic veil embroidered with religious imagery revived gothic, baroque, and sensual wedding trends.
In 2021, Paris Hilton organized a multi-day wedding featuring no fewer than seven different dresses. Blending princess silhouettes, modern looks, and couture pieces, she helped establish the norm of multiple outfits and weddings as immersive, multi-day experiences, a concept now widely adopted.

More recently, in 2025, Lauren Sánchez and Jeff Bezos celebrated their wedding in Venice in a spectacular setting. Lauren’s highly glamorous, form-fitting Dolce & Gabbana gown, combined with a grand décor, reinforced the trend of ultra-luxury, cinematic weddings where every detail is designed to impress and be shared.
