Humor at the Oscars: the fashion anecdote

Actress Anne Hathaway and fashion icon Anna Wintour took the stage to present the Oscar for Best Costume Design, won by the film Frankenstein. For the occasion, they performed a sketch inspired by The Devil Wears Prada. Anne Hathaway, adopting a tone that was both stressed and enthusiastic, asked Anna Wintour what she thought of her outfit. But the Condé Nast Chief Content Officer and former Vogue editor-in-chief remained completely cold, ignored her, and went straight to announcing the nominees.

The funniest moment came when she called her “Emily,” in reference to the film, triggering laughter in the audience. The contrast between Anne Hathaway’s energy and Wintour’s icy attitude made the scene particularly funny and memorable, reminding everyone that the Oscars ceremony, as glamorous and serious as it may be, remains a celebration full of joy.
