This season, LUXUS Magazine has chosen to highlight new food and wine pairings in its Décryptage section. To mark the occasion, we bring you a champagne Cover Story, featuring an exclusive interview with an influential figure in the Champagne ecosystem: Vitalie Taittinger, president of the eponymous champagne house. Issue 13 of LUXUS Magazine is now available in print and digital formats.
For our winter issue of LUXUS Magazine, Vitalie Taittinger, heiress and president of the champagne house of the same name, agreed to be interviewed.
She is the daughter of Pierre-Emmanuel Taittinger, who took over the champagne business following the sale of the consolidated family group to Starwood Capital in 2005. The latter acquired prestigious—not to say legendary—hotels such as the Hôtel de Crillon and the Lutétia in Paris, as well as La Mamounia in Marrakech, which had long been part of the family business’s assets.
In order to respond to an era increasingly in search of experiences based on conviviality and quality interactions, the House has just launched a new culinary initiative. This is a gourmet restaurant called Polychrome, located on Place Saint-Nicaise in the heart of the House’s historic headquarters, a stone’s throw from the memorable Crayères, ancient Gallo-Roman galleries that have become the estate’s cellars.
Champagne as a legacy
Admiring her father’s commitment to defending the wine-growing heritage of a family rooted in the vineyards since 1734, Vitalie Taittinger chose to join Champagne Taittinger after completing her art studies.
The heiress had to patiently prove herself and climb the ladder one rung at a time, rising from muse to director of marketing and communications.
Since 2010, she has been president of what is, with its 288 hectares, the largest private champagne estate. Overseeing the company’s development, Vitalie Taittinger works in tandem with her brother, Clovis, who holds the position of CEO.
For LUXUS Magazine, this female executive and mother looks back on her career, her love of a job well done, her concept of leadership, and the ambitions of the House.
An extraordinary tasting experience
Driven by a desire to develop the experiential aspect of the business, in line with the values that define the champagne house, Vitalie Taittinger worked with her teams to develop a new kind of champagne tasting experience.
Launched in June 2025 at the historic Saint-Nicaise site, Polychrome is the result of a fruitful collaboration with Michelin-starred chef Charles Coulombeau. Here, champagne accompanies the entire menu, from starter to dessert, pairing perfectly with a wide range of flavors.
The president of Champagnes Taittinger wanted an experiential program at the crossroads of childhood and play, where customers take a fully active role in discovering the cuvées and, even more so, in the art of blending wines, which characterizes every champagne house.
You can see Vitalie Taittinger as a key witness on the Circular Economy Stage at the Paris Packaging Week trade show at Porte de Versailles, this Friday, February 6 at 1 p.m. in a conference hosted by the editorial director of Luxus Plus, Claire Domergue.
