A legendary tea room since 1903, Angelina Paris highlights three cocoas of African originNiger, Ghana, and Côte d’Ivoire. Perfectly balanced, this traditional hot chocolate, whose recipe has remained unchanged for over a century, offers unmatched smoothness, indulgence, and lightness. Angelina has several locations in Paris and Versailles, as well as a boutique in Lyon. But its historic tea room at 226 Rue de Rivoli is undoubtedly the one most worth experiencing. Moreover its shops offer its famous hot chocolate in a glass bottle so you can enjoy it at home!

 

PLAQ Chocolat (Paris 2nd arrondissement)

 

Considered one of the best bean-to-bar establishments in France, PLAQ chocolat follows a true “from bean to cup” philosophy. In their Parisian workshop, cocoa beans are processed on-site, and the hot chocolate can be customized with milk or water and topped with a swirl of raw cream whipped into chantilly for extra pleasure.

 

Four Seasons George V Paris (Paris 8th arrondissement)

 

For an ultra-luxurious hot chocolate, head to the Four Seasons George V. In its prestigious salons, the Palace offers a signature drink that is as playful as it is decadent. L’Éclair de Génie Café (Paris 2nd arrondissement, Cannes)

 

 

Known for his delicate and delicious pastries, Christophe Adam offers a spectacularly presented hot chocolate in his coffee shops in Paris and Cannes. A white chocolate flower opens and melts into the cup as Tanzanian hot chocolate is poured over it, revealing the full complexity of the drink with hints of vanilla and passion fruit.

 

La Réserve Paris (Paris 8th arrondissement)

 

Chef Jérôme Banctel and pastry chef Jordan Talbot have created two signature hot chocolate recipes for the 5-star hotel La Réserve Paris, served in the Pagode de Cos restaurant by the fireplace, at Le Gaspard bar, or in the Duc de Morny Library. Ikône (Lyon)

 

Located in Lyon’s first arrondissement, Ikône defines itself as a melted chocolate bar. In addition to treats like pancakes, waffles, and flans, the tea room features several hot chocolates. Among them: a Dark Orange (64%), a Pasillo from Ecuador (76%), and even a White Cocoon made with 33% white chocolate.

 

Café Piha (Bordeaux)

 

Situated in Bordeaux’s Saint-Pierre district, Café Piha serves hot chocolates made with Hasnâa Grands Crus chocolate, best enjoyed with their signature cookie – all in a warm and cozy setting.

 

Méert (Lille)

 

 

Founded in 1909, Méert on rue Esquermoise is a Lille institution. In an elegant and authentic Louis XVI interior, visitors can enjoy the famous gaufre and a richly aromatic old-fashioned hot chocolate.
